Baby Let's Cruise Away From Here....

Our Puebla, Mexico trip we had planned got cancelled due to Swine Flu! We were pretty disapointed, but we still had a week off to play, so we went on a cruise instead. The cruise was rerouted to Canada so it was a dirt cheap vacation. We had two stops one in Victoria and one in Vancouver. It sure was one of the best 7 day vacations ever! Here are some pictures of our trip...

Here is our room!

This is our dream house in the swamp

These suspension bridges were all in the tree tops, it was pretty nifty.

This is Tyler enjoying the views on the big suspension bridge over the river.

Here I am hanging on for dear life! That bridge sure was wobbly!

Last Day of School

These are what I call honey-nut petit fours. I invented them for my final project. They have layers of almond genoise, honey glaze, raisen granola, more honey glaze and topped with marzipan and a fondant glaze. The bumble bees on top are all made out of marzipan too, but they have almond slices as the wings. I think they turned out pretty well. And it was definatly more fun to invent and play around my last days of school than making something I already know how. Oh, I got an A on these little suckers too.
These are the girls I went through school with. We sure had a great time messing around in the kitchen. We got to know each other pretty well after 2 years of everyday all day classes together. It was sad to say goodbye. From left too right: Kayla Demell, Lynae Bennett, Rachel Nelson, Kimberlee Allen, Carrie Millward(me).
This is a picture of all of our Final Project petit fours. They were all pretty delish.
Well, that's about it for school. I still lack one more week of internships and general classes this summer but then I will be all done! Almost there!!!

Spring Fever

So, we finally got a washer and dryer!! Well, I guess I shouldn't say "we" because this actually belongs to Tyler...Happy Birthday Tyler! It's just what he always wanted! His birthday was on Feb. 28 and it was a great day of errands and shopping. But it did start pretty darn well if i remember right. He had breakfast in bed of homemade cinnamon rolls, which we took the extras to the neighbors house, and then we went up to Idaho Falls. We went to the temple, so that was good, but we also shopped a lot, which wasn't his choice activity, but we had to get it done. we then went to his family's house for birthday cake (carrot, his favorite). Yay for birthdays!! Yay for clean clothes!

Since the washer/dryer took up our whole corner of junk, we had to move all the junk. This use to be a very tall shelf full of cleaning supplies, tools, and what not. Since our house is so small, we had no where to put it anymore. So, ingenious Carrie took it all apart and turned it into something that would fit (twice).

And now, what you have all been waiting for...RAMONA! Of course I couldn't make a post without a million pictures of her, you guys should know better than that. This is Ramona's friend who Tyler and I named Meow Mix. We don't really know much about him/her. He just showed up one day and meowed outside the window...ALL DAY! So Ramona and I took him some food, but he just ran away. But don't worry, he came back and just kept on meowing. He eventually ate the food, with some help of the neighborhood strays. I'm pretty sure he just wanted Ramona to come out and play but, me being a paranoid mother, I didn't want to just let my baby run around outside by herself!

The next day, I was awakened by some loud meowing outside my window. I finally decided that Meow Mix wouldn't leave until Ramona came out to play. So we went outside. It happened to be the first nice day in a long time and Ramona loved it. Meow Mix was scared of me so he just ran away the second he saw me. This is a picture of Ramona checking out the spot where he had sat all day calling for her.

Ramona then realized that trees were climbable. We have of course been outside before, but everything was frozen and Ramona does NOT like the cold. So this is pretty much Ramona's first tree climbing experience.

Going up....

Coming down...

The spring has brought on a ton of house remodeling plans and ideas. Ramona loves to help out too. She was kind enough to make sure the tape measures stayed on the floor while Tyler was measuring. Isn't she a stinker? She always has to be the center of attention!

Speaking of attention, she definitely did not want to be left behind on our trip to Utah! Especially because we were taking her favorite bed. We have been keeping this suitcase in the attic so that she will learn to sleep in other places, but the second we get it out, she reclaims it! So we figured we would take her with us.

Well, that has been our spring so far. We also starting training for a tri and hopefully we can keep it up. We keep hoping the weather will warm up soon, so we can start on our house projects, but so far no luck with any warmth. We are so excited to get to work!!!Til next time...

Ramona's First Christmas

We first want to let everyone know that just because we have lots of pictures of our cute little girl, Ramona, we aren't crazy cat lovers. Carrie and I just want it to be known that we take lots of pictures of our little girl growing up just like you would your own child.

We put together our coffee table and Ramona now thinks that she belongs in every cubby.

Last year I gave Carrie a little sheep for her birthday and Ramona thinks it is her new best friends. Ramona now meows at it, plays with it, gets mad at it and will carry it all over the house.

When Carrie and I were first new to our house we received our first post card from someone, and instead of them thinking of us they thought of Ramona, now wasn't that nice. Jess sent us a post card from Hawaii of little kittens, and Ramona was so happy she took a nap with them.

This is gangsta thug Ramona. Just chillin'. Protecting her mom.

This is how cute she is when she sleeps...

Now it's Christmas time! This is a 3 generation photo of Mom, Mata, and Ramona. Mom is showing off her new dress she got from Jessie, while Mata is eyeing Ramona wanting to eat her, and Ramona just wants to find a safe hiding place.

Merry Christmas to Mata! Jess and Santa got her a leash and a new chain for outside! Mata was really excited to get these so she was making sure Ramona didn't steal them.

Now it's time for Ramona's Christmas! In her stocking she got a new toy that I like to call her bird-snake. As you can tell, it resembles a snake, but has a wad of feathers at the end. She also got a TON of little balls with bells in them, but she likes to roll them under the couch, to protect and forget about them. Then when we find one, she will go crazy for it and then send it back under the couch.

So Tyler and I made a luv sac (HUGE bean bag) when we were still living in our little apartment. I told him that i would make it, but he had to be the one to get it inside the new house. Since it wouldn't fit through the door or up the stairs, this is him on the roof, New Years Eve, shoving the thing through the window. Thanks to Mason, George, and Anthony for helping!

Tyler and I were starting to not enjoy Ramona's litter box in the living room so much, so we decided to make a laundry room. This is Tyler putting up the wall we made out of burlap to separate the spaces.

TADA! Now we have a laundry room! But, no washer or dryer yet...

This right here is our new heat supplier! If you remember from last posts pictures, we had a retarded wall heater in the corner. Well, it decided to die out on us from old age. So we bought a new fireplace to put in it's place. Lets just say it didn't fit like we imagined and the whole living room was turned upside down. Our already small space was shrunken, it felt like, because we had to move the couches around so the new fireplace wouldn't burn them. So here is the beauty in front of the old wall heater's home. It left us a very nice stripe on the wall...

So to fix this problem, Tyler and i decided to re plumb the gas line to somewhere else in the room so everything would fit again. And it just so happened that we had an empty space for it. So Matthew and Anthony came over one night and help and we stayed up til after 2am trying to get it to work. Then finally, it DID work! and it looks great too. This is it...Oh, and thanks to dad for the clock. We found a home for it.

So, that has basically been our month. Our lives are Ramona and repairing the house. Maybe next month we will paint...

Up on the house top....

Check out what we got for an early Christmas present! This is our new house that we have been trying to get into it seems for an eternity. We closed on the 2nd on December and it is officially ours now. We are still in the process of moving in because we are both pretty busy now, but we should be completely in by the end of this month. Isn't she a beaut?

If you look closely, you can barely see our Christmas tree through the window! Well, I guess I will give you the virtual tour of our lovely home!

Welcome to our living room. Let me tell you, it is so nice to have a living room. This is pretty much were we always are. Oh, and that brown thing on the wall is our heating unit.

Next is our kitchen.

The rest of our kitchen...

And now, our first Christmas tree! We had to put it in the kitchen because we didn't have room anywhere else! We were so excited with our tree that we rushed it home and then realised that we forgot a tree stand for it. But I had to be to work in 30 minutes, so we made due with what we had so we could decorate it before i left. That is our garbage can under the tree and it is still doing a great job. Well, except we put some water in it and Ramona decided to climb the tree. Let's just say it was a disaster and since we don't have a mop or anything, every towel we had was used to clean up her mess. It's a good thing she is so cute, or she would've been in trouble.

This is our dining room!
This is Ramona's favorite feature of the new house. She will just play on these stairs for hours! It leads up to our loft, which we are going to turn into a movie watching room. Right now it is just where we put everything that doesn't quite have a spot yet.

This is our bathroom with our claw foot tub! We all love it because it is so big! Tyler and I both want to take a baths everyday and Ramona just likes to walk around the edge of it.

So I started a new job this month sorting mail for the post office. It is only for the holidays though. The only problem with this job is that it is all graveyard shifts and it is Finals week. So Tyler will wake me up when he gets home from work, and then I will get ready and leave within an hour. We haven't seen each other much so far this month, but we are almost half done with this torture. So this is Tyler trying to wake me up to go to work.

This is me saying goodbye to my kitten for the night. By the way, I really need a hair cut......(Jessie)

So, that is pretty much where we are at right now. We are still working on our house and we have a lot of ideas to make it prettier. So don't judge our house quite yet! It will be beautiful one day. You guys can all come visit us now! We have room for visitors!
